Blue obsidian does occur naturally on occasions, found in rare pockets near past lava flows like all obsidians. They have a nice tranquil energy that is soothing and calming. It helps to relieve inflammation and pain, soothing joints and sore muscles.

Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass that is created when lava flows are quickly cooled with water. Obsidian is comprised mostly of silicon dioxide but its amorphous formation lacks the crystalline structure of quartz and is therefore generally softer. This beautiful mineral is perfect for carving and polishing and has long been used in ceremonies and cleaved into weapons.

The energy of obsidian is softer than smoky quartz that has a lovely grounding energy. Its energy is highly protective and when placed by the front door will help keep negativity at bay. Black obsidian can also help to keep night mares and terrors at bay.
